About Claire-Louise
Claire-Louise has been teaching Scaravelli inspired hatha yoga classes in Bristol since 2006.
She sees yoga and meditation as an art form rather than a form of exercise. “If we can engage our curiosity whilst moving with the breath, then our practice is like experimenting with the melody, tone, volume and pitch of the body.”
In this way our practice can become more like a meditative dance where the breath, body, and mind are interconnected and we become more in tune with ourselves, each other, and the world around us.
Through exploring our minds and bodies in this way, we can truly know ourselves and connect with the world in a more authentic, peaceful and joyful way.
Claire-Louise is qualified in Pregnancy Yoga, Thai Yoga Massage and Yoga Therapy. She currently teach classes at the Wild Goose Space as well as in schools and at her home in Eastville.
Claire-Louise trained to teach Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction / Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy training with Bangor University’s Teacher Training Programme in 2014.
In 2017 she completed the Supervised Teacher Training Pathway and is recognised as a Competent Mindfulness Practitioner that follows the Good Practice Guidelines.
She has now qualified as a Mindfulness Supervisor and can supervise mindfulness teachers as well as those delivering mindfulness as part of the IAPT service.
In addition, Claire-Louise has delivered an adapted MBSR course (called Mindfulness for Parents/Carers) to vulnerable parents as a way of supporting them to reconnect with their children and other family members.
What do you enjoy most about mindfulness?
Claire-Louise has truly seen the benefits of mindfulness for herself as a mother and has found it to be a real life saver when managing small children and a busy home and work life. It enables her to pause, take stock of how things are and see more clearly where the real priorities lay. Therefore it can support us all to live simpler, easier and more joyful lives.
